Re: Conversions Mekaneck
Hello,
last conversion: McLaren M29C 1980.
Starting from the base Solido and with decals of Provence Moulage (actually for version B of the M29, the one that produced the spark for instance) I came to the C version, with no front wing as was fashionable in that year.
So in summary:
- Via mustache + painted white
- Added driver (with visor [;)] [;)]) + decals Prost (always in the sheet Provence)
- Decals fluorescent orange (above the red Solido that was not good)
- Sponsor decals + decals inside cockpit
- Add skirts
- Added pipes in the area of the rollbar and simulated with color metal fittings
- Added rollbar behind thedashboard (you can see behind the slide)
- Added nets under sidepods and above inlet trumpets
- Various paint jobs
reference photo (gp Austria should be ... and I liked it because in addition to being the C version, the one with the roll tube, not the closed triangle, like Spark model, the rear wing is with two wings like a model not one)
Result:
I put the next photo without the flash to make see the true color of the helmet, blue ..in other seems a little light blue
Here I put the model on a modified Mclaren's cardboard

Splendid job

Great work !
Just 2 details I noticed : the name Alain Prost under the rollbar was written in black and not in white letters, and EAGLE on the tyres must be erased.
I have 2 Solido models to convert too ...

Re: Conversions Mekaneck
hi , thank you all.
Well, as far as it concerned the black written...yes i know....unfortunately i had only the white one in the Provence's sheets (probably in the near future i will try to create it). For the "eagle" written....i really didn't find a clear photo in which i can understand if there was or not

Re: Conversions Mekaneck
In 1980 Eagle was NOT written on any F1 Goodyear tyre. Sometimes on the photos there are some white markings but it's mechanics hand written inscriptions.Mekaneck a écrit :For the "eagle" written....i really didn't find a clear photo in which i can understand if there was or not
I think "Eagle" appears in 1985 on the Goodyear tyres.
Re: Conversions Mekaneck
Ok ,thank you! great shot! in that photo you can see another little defect in my conversion: the "castrol" is too big....this is another decal i want to replace as soon as possible.
